Vauxhall is throwing heaps more power at its two VXR flagships. The Monaro V8 coupe is being supercharged, by Kent dealer Greens of Rainham. The 6.0-litre unit's peak power and torque jump by 25 percent, for extra rubber-burning getaways and even more mid-range surge.
As promised, the third installment in our supercar video extravaganza--after the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and the Porsche GT2 RS--gives you the lowdown on the hyperexotic Lexus LFA and its insane 552-hp V10 powerplant. Best described by senior editor for motorsports Mac Morrison as "shrieking like a melting witch," the Lexus LFA emits a wail unlike anything this side of a Formula One racer, and its performance isn't too far off that mark, either. Check out the walk-around and some on-track fun, then come back for the VBox lap on Friday.
2012 Mercedes SL leaks ahead of Detroit debut
The 2012 Mercedes SL will debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January, and we’ve had the first leak of the new SL brochure. The new Mercedes SL (which is either a 2012 or 2013 model, depending on which side of the Pond you are) is due to arrive in January at the Detroit Motor Show. But it’s turned up a bit earlier than Mercedes wants thanks to a brochure leak picked up by the guys at Autoblog.nl.
